diskSpace Explorer 3.0 NetworkThe Pie Chart
diskSpace Explorer 3 displays a graphical view of the contents of the current folder by using a pie chart. The sections of the pie chart represent the subfolders and files from the current folder. The pie sections may have different colors if they represent different types of items (subfolders, files, etc.). You may change the colors of the pie chart using the program options dialog box.
Navigate through your files and folders by clicking anywhere on the pie chart
The pie chart is interactive and can be used to easily navigate through your files and folders. When you move the mouse over a pie section that corresponds to a subfolder, the mouse cursor changes to a magnifying glass with a '+'. You may click the left mouse button to zoom in into that subfolder. When you move the mouse outside the pie chart, the mouse cursor changes to a magnifying glass with a '-'. You may click the left mouse button to zoom out to the parent of the current folder.
Move the mouse and get instant information about files and folders
When moving the cursor over a section of the pie chart, you'll get detailed information about that section: the name, the file/folder type, the full path (in the status bar), the amount of space used and the size of the section relative to the current drive.
Quickly identify folders that waste a lot of space because of the drive cluster size
When moving the cursor over a section of the pie chart, you will also get a graphical display of the amount of space wasted by that section because of the drive cluster size. This graphical indicator is displayed in a small floating window (the Wasted & Drive Pie Charts window). This small window also displays the amount of free space and the capacity on the current drive.
Right click to get the Explorer context menu
When the mouse is over a pie section that corresponds to a subfolder or file (or outside the pie chart – this corresponds to the parent of the current folder), you may click the right mouse button to display the Explorer context menu for that folder/file. This menu allows you to perform various functions such as explore the current file/folder, copy, cut, delete, etc. If you use the Delete context menu entry to delete a section, the current parent folder will be automatically updated.
Copy the pie chart to the clipboard or to a graphic file in bitmap or metafile format
diskSpace Explorer 3 can help you take snapshots of your drives by copying the graphical pie chart display of your folders to the clipboard or to a graphic file in metafile or bitmap format. Simply use the Export Pie option of the File Menu.
